Sustain your energy, sustain your impact: collaboration with Tina, hosted by XR The Hague
Caring about climate, nature and social change can be deeply motivating. It can also be demanding – especially when progress feels slow, the challenges are large and there is always more that could be done.
Sustain your Energy. Sustain your Impact. is a 3-hour interactive workshop for people who are actively engaged in making a difference – whether through their work, volunteering, activism, community initiatives or simply because they care and want to contribute.
Together, we’ll explore what helps us stay engaged over the long term without running ourselves empty. Rather than treating this simply as a question of individual resilience or self-care, we’ll look at the different factors that shape our capacity: our own patterns and choices, our relationships and communities, and the wider systems and environments in which we operate.
The workshop combines short inputs with individual reflection, practical exercises and exchange with others. There will be space to consider what gives you energy, what drains it, where you may be taking on too much, and what could help you contribute in a more sustainable way.
You don’t need any particular background or level of experience to join. The workshop is intended as a practical and reflective space for engaged citizens who want to keep making a difference – and find ways of doing so that are sustainable for themselves as well.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify factors that support or undermine their energy and capacity for sustained engagement.
- Analyse their own patterns of energy, motivation and commitment in relation to their work or other forms of contribution.
- Evaluate different approaches to sustaining engagement, taking into account personal, relational and systemic factors.
- Develop practical strategies for sustaining their energy and impact in ways that are realistic and meaningful to them.
Practical information: Further details about the location and the workshop will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.
There is no fixed participation fee. After the workshop, you are invited to contribute whatever amount reflects what the experience was worth to you.
Places are limited, so please only register if you expect to be able to join. If your plans change, please cancel your registration as soon as possible so your place can be offered to someone else.
We hope to welcome Tina as a trainer to our collective, and this is our second collaboration with Tina. This is a try-out of sorts, happily hosted by XR The Hague and funded through our 'Educatiefonds,' made possible by DOEN and Stichting Democratie and Media and trainers working for the same fee at bigger organisations for commercial prices. If you miss this one - another edition especially for academics will take place upcoming january, so keep an eye on our newsletter for that! And we're planning a next one for NGO's in ...
Bio Tina:
"I trained as a biologist and completed a PhD, then spent more than 20 years working in international business. I moved through different roles, countries and organisations, eventually spending much of my working life in leadership and people development.
Along the way, I became increasingly interested in sustainability, human behaviour, systems, wellbeing and the question of what helps people create meaningful change without using themselves up in the process."
